How about you guys that regularly sell on ebay give us your ebay Id or store name. I would feel better bidding on items if I knew who I was dealing with. I know John (tippie).

Ron -
One of the Big additions comming to the OLF is going to be an acution house for everyone to use. Most of our sponsors have shown interest in running there auction here if we had a place to do so, also it my provide a good way for someone to either sell off a set or two of wood OR maybe even set up a trade. More on this later, right now were ramping up to purchase the software which is pricy to say the least!

Yes. I think that there could be a b2b as well as b2c market in these auctions. But we are still thinking through a lot of this.

Thanks, Brian. I already had you marked as one of my favorites, but I didn't know it was you. That's why I made the original post. I haven't bought anything yet but I check it out every night.

Hey John E.
I got a message almost just like that, only this guy said he had to pay through his company and could I wire the freight charges to his bank so he could then pay for the freight and than send me the money for the violin I was selling. His english was just like your guys. Hmmmm!!
eBay actually sent me a letter saying that this guy was not an current e-bayer, and I should be careful. (Shades of big brother). But I thanked them.

As I was just getting ready to e-mail this jabroney back about the guitar and shipping it to Vietnam ASAP, Ebay already did all the work and got rid of this guy, retracted his bid, and deleted his account. Good on them!

My only concern (not for the fake bidder) was that he had a 4-year history of good transactions. Obviously a legitimate user had somehow got his login name and info highjacked. The fake bidder created his own screen-name but was able to maintain 4 years of good feedback from the i.d. he highjacked. Scary...

Cheers!

John
